MVSD Annual Meeting Warning: March 1, 2022
The legal voters of Missisquoi Valley School District, consisting of the towns of Franklin, Highgate, and Swanton, are hereby notified and warned to meet to transact the following business by Australian ballot in their respective polling places hereinafter named for each of the above referenced towns on March 1, 2022 at the polling places and times hereinafter listed.
Article I: To elect from the legal voters of said District the following officers:
A. A Moderator for a term of one (1) year.
B. A Clerk for a term of one (1) year.
C. A Treasurer for a term of (1) year.
D. A MVSD School Director for a term of three (3) years from Franklin.
E. A MVSD School Director for a term of three (3) years from Highgate.
F. A MVSD School Director for a term of three (3) years from Swanton.
Article II Shall the voters of the Missisquoi Valley School District approve the School Directors to expend $41,050,423 which is the amount the School Directors have determined to be necessary for the ensuing fiscal year? It is estimated that this proposed budget, if approved, will result in education spending of $16,672 per equalized pupil. This projected spending per equalized pupil is 9.21% higher than spending for the current year.
Article III Shall the voters of the Missisquoi Valley School District authorize the Board of Directors of the said School District to borrow money to pay the current expenditures in anticipation of taxes and to sign notes for that purpose?
Said persons and voters warned are further notified that voter qualification, registration, absentee voting, and voter procedures shall be in accordance with Chapters 43 and 51 of Title 17 VSA.
The legal voters of the School District are further notified that an information meeting will be held virtually via Zoom on February 23 at 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of explaining the budget items to the voters. The link to access this virtual meeting will be posted on the MVSD Website and social media.

FRANKLIN – Franklin Town Hall, 5336 Main Street, Franklin; from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
HIGHGATE – Highgate Sports Arena, 243 Gore Rd, Highgate Center; from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
SWANTON – Swanton Village Municipal Complex, First & Elm Streets, Swanton; from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
